About Fabien

As a native French speaker and fully registered Modern Languages teacher in Scotland, I bring 16 years of continuous classroom experience across both the state and private sectors. My background inside Scottish schools ensures that I know exactly what it takes to guide students of all backgrounds and abilities to absolute academic and conversational success.

About the lesson

Because I have sat in the learner's seat myself to learn three foreign languages, I understand the challenges students face. Therefore, I will identify your specific needs and long-term goals, as well as gauge your preferences and learning style, in order to tailor an approach that works for you. Whether you want to improve your conversational French, start learning from scratch, or require targeted, strategic preparation for your SQA National 5, Higher, or Advanced Higher exams, I am here to help you make genuine progress.

Availability: Flexible availability throughout the week, including daytime slots on my non-school working day (perfect for retirees and holidaymakers), as well as evening sessions.

I’ve known Fabien for several years and we regularly speak Spanish together. We’ve also travelled together in Spain, where I’ve seen how naturally and confidently he communicates in Spanish.
I think Fabien is a great tutor for anyone wanting to learn Spanish or become more comfortable speaking it.

Fabien has been helping me with my French for several years and has made such a difference to my confidence.
He's very patient, but also quick to pick up on where I'm comfortable and where I'm struggling - and then helps me focus on those areas.
He always makes our lessons seem like conversations, to the point I start thinking more about the topic of discussion and worrying less that it's happening in French, and that makes my learning flow much more freely.
