About Emilie
I'm Emilie, I'm a French student currently doing my bachelor's in Montréal with a focus on education and pedagogy. I've worked as a middle school and high school tutor for multiple years now and am dedicated to helping each and every one of my students succeed in their own personal language journey by growing their proficiency and confidence. I want to share my passion for the French language and culture while maintaining a casual and conversational atmosphere, which allows for the student to gain familiarity in French for a variety of contexts.

I follow an immersion/practice-based approach (TPRS) and focus on making the student learn at their own pace and on their own terms. Depending on the level (beginner, intermediate or advanced/literature) a typical lesson would usually involve storytelling/introduction of a given topic, going through either a related text or video, subsequent discussion and lastly written review if the student wants to improve writing. If interested in literature/cinema we can read classics or work on excerpts analysis together and create an overview of the main currents, as well as improve on essay structure.
