About Déan
I hold an MPhil in Medieval Studies from Trinity College Dublin and was ranked at the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon. As a native French speaker with two years of tutoring experience (individual and group classes of 5–7 students), I have prepared learners for DELF/DALF, university exams, and competitive entrance exams (ENS, MEEF). My background in stylistics, Latin, and philology gives me a deep understanding of French grammar and syntax. I am patient, organized, and committed to helping each student progress at their own pace, whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced learner!

My lessons are tailored to your goals: grammar, conversation, translation, exam preparation (DELF/DALF, ENS, MEEF), academic writing, or just learning for pleasure. I use authentic both academic and cultural materials (press, film, literature) to make the language relevant and engaging. Typical lesson length: 60–90 minutes. The first lesson is a free needs assessment to design your personal learning plan.
