About Irene
️Ya sas.
My name is Irene, and I am a native Greek speaker. Over the past 3 years, I have been studying English Language and Literature at The Open University in the UK and hold a TEFL certification from The TEFL Academy.
Teaching is my passion. Before becoming a teacher, I was a student myself. Throughout my years of learning different languages, I realised the importance of understanding the associated cultures. It's impossible to truly learn a language without also immersing yourself in the culture, literature, and history of that place.
I have a deep passion for languages and cultures. I speak Greek, English, and Japanese fluently, and I've also studied Korean, Italian, and French. Learning multiple languages has given me a greater appreciation for the diversity of cultures around the world. I have also attended seminars on 'Forms and Uses of Language', 'Learning Disability Awareness' and 'Studies in Arts and Humanities'. One of my greatest joys is chatting with my foreign friends in their native languages. My ultimate goal is to learn as many languages as possible!
With 9 years of teaching experience, I can guide my students through the exploration of one of the world's most ancient and rich civilizations! While Greek may seem challenging, it's not as difficult as it appears. With well-structured lessons, engaging activities, and more, you'll be able to read, write, and speak Greek sooner than you might think!

Do you want to understand its unique and fascinating language?
Are you eager to learn more about this beautiful country and its warm, welcoming people?
Based on your needs, we can explore the Greek language and culture through songs, stories, my personal notes, and a variety of books.
Each lesson lasts 60 minutes and begins with a 10-minute cultural segment.
We then focus on grammar and vocabulary, practising these concepts through exercises and conversation.
We always conclude with reading and listening activities.
Last but not least, age is never a barrier to learning a new language. Therefore my lessons are available for everyone!
