About Carrie
Hi! My name is Carrie and I am a native Mandarin speaker from Shanghai, currently studying at The University of Queensland in Australia.
I can speak fluent English, and also a bit of German and Japanese.
I enjoy meeting people from different cultures and helping them gain confidence in speaking Chinese. Having lived in China and Germany and now studying in Australia, I understand how challenging learning a new language can be. I believe language learning should be practical, enjoyable and stress-free.
Whether you are a beginner, preparing for HSK, or simply looking for conversation practice, I would be happy to help you improve your Chinese in a friendly and supportive environment.

I am a native Mandarin speaker from Shanghai and currently studying at The University of Queensland. Having lived in China and Germany and now studying in Australia, I understand the challenges of learning a new language and communicating across cultures.
I achieved a near-perfect score in the HSK Level 6 examination, with particularly strong results in listening, reading and language knowledge. As a bilingual speaker of Mandarin and English, I can explain Chinese concepts clearly and adapt lessons to different learning styles.
My focus is on helping students build confidence in real-life communication. Whether you are a beginner, preparing for HSK, planning a trip to China, or simply looking for conversational practice, I aim to create a relaxed and supportive learning environment where you can improve naturally and enjoy the process.
I can also help students learn contemporary Chinese, internet slang, popular culture and everyday expressions used by young people in China.
