About Joana
I am an actress. I graduated in 2015 and I am currently living in London and studying the MA in Applied Theatre at Goldsmiths UOL. I am passionate about teaching. I've been teaching drama and singing form the past 4 years, and I have used super prof before for this purpose. Now, in London I feel like sharing my knowledge in Portuguese with you is a great opportunity. I love languages and I would be absolutely thrilled to share my language and even a bit of the Portuguese culture with you.

I like building personal experiences adapted to what the students are specifically looking for. I am available to teach writing, reading, speaking skills to either advanced students or just curious ones.
The fact that I am an actress gives me some more creative skills when teaching. I use examples from the Portuguese and Brazilian culture, literature, music etc to teach, as I believe those are fields that help to keep a language alive.
I am aware that the Portuguese grammar can be very tricky and I look forward to helping those who may struggle with it.

Perfect! Been taking Brazilian Portuguese lessons with Joana and she's been amazing; she adapts the language to the way you learn best, explains complicated grammar in a way that you understand and is relevant to how you speak on a day to day, she's flexible in scheduling a lesson with her, and since having her as my teacher I've always seen my Portuguese improve. Would highly recommend to those who wish to learn another language be it European or Brazilian Portuguese :)

Perfect! Joana is a fabulous Portuguese tutor. She is helping me learn the language before I travel to Brasil and has been very patient with me as I get to grips with the basics. Due to her teaching style, I feel that I have learnt a lot in such a short space of time. Joana is ideal for someone who is going to travel to a Portuguese-speaking country so that you can understand the language and also the different cultures and customs. I highly recommend Joana for those that are looking to learn Portuguese! :)
