About Verania

Hello. My name is Verania, and I am a psychology student at the University of Texas at Austin. I am a native Spanish speaker from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, who grew up in Brownsville, Texas, so I have about equal literacy for both English and Spanish. I love teaching my native tongue and am more than happy to calmly guide my students through the angst of learning something new. I will always reassure you and teach at your pace.

About the lesson

- I have taught all ages, including collegiate students, how to test for Advanced Spanish
- I teach both English and Spanish to company coworkers for sales purposes
- Start with a friendly greeting and everyday words, continue into basic safety and gender distinctions, and then advance into comfortable conversation as needed
- I do not force beginners into difficult verbs; I begin with easier tangible words such as phone, pen, purse, etc., that can serve as anchors to begin their understanding of the language
