With over 25 years of dedicated experience in elementary education and Spanish immersion programs, my lessons are designed to be engaging, interactive, and tailored to each student's unique learning style. Whether your child is just beginning to explore Spanish or looking to build advanced fluency and confidence, I provide a supportive, immersive environment where language learning feels natural and fun.
My Teaching Approach & Methodology
I believe that language is best acquired through meaningful communication, cultural context, and positive reinforcement. My sessions blend conversational practice, vocabulary building, literacy skills, and interactive games. Rather than rote memorization, I focus on building real-world comprehension and speaking skills so students feel empowered to use what they learn immediately.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Warm-Up (5–10 mins): A friendly greeting in Spanish to ease into the language mindset, reviewing previous concepts or discussing daily topics.
Core Learning (25–35 mins): Introducing new vocabulary, grammar structures, or reading/listening exercises through engaging visuals, stories, and guided practice.
Interactive Application (10–15 mins): Putting new skills into practice through role-play, games, or collaborative problem-solving.
Wrap-Up & Review (5 mins): Summarizing what we accomplished and setting light, optional practice for the next session.
Who These Lessons Are For
My lessons are ideal for elementary and middle school students (grades K–8) looking for academic support, enrichment, homework help, or full Spanish immersion guidance. I adapt the pacing and content to match each student's current proficiency level, ensuring they are both challenged and supported.
What Sets Me Apart
As a veteran educator who has successfully initiated and led school immersion programs, I bring deep professional expertise, patience, and a genuine passion for teaching. I know how to break down complex concepts into bite-sized, digestible pieces, creating a warm space where making mistakes is celebrated as a natural part of the learning journey.
