About Maris
I tutored English learners online for 6 years when I was a teenager. I then studied the art of teaching English as a second language for 3 years in Arizona State University.
For 2 years now (2018-today) I have been teaching A1-level older adults at a small academy in Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina.
I spent a year working for a more prestigious English institute in Comodoro, giving highly structured classes to students of ages 9 to 90, from beginner (A1) to advanced (C1).
Today, I still give private classes to learners of all ages and levels.

Conversation practice is very important to me, and I have experience in accent reduction or pronunciation training. I encourage students to speak freely, and make mistakes without fear. If you prefer to study grammar, writing, reading, or to prepare for an exam, I have a lot of experience in that area as well. I love the process of getting to know my students and finding out what helps them learn best -- I will work with you to make your class truly yours!
