About Michael
I am a Neuroscientist with a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from UCSF (2012), have carried out a Postdoctoral Fellowship at The Ohio State University (2012-2016), and have been teaching as a professor at the university/college level from 2017-2025. I have taught courses in Neurobiology, Neurophysiology, Developmental Biology, Stem Cells & Regeneration, Anatomy & Physiology (Nursing), Microbiology, and General Biology. I have been carrying out research in Neuroscience during this time and have published several primary research articles in this field. Students come away from my courses having learned a lot and gaining a confidence and command of the material and how they can apply what they have learned to key scientific and research questions in the field of Neuroscience. I teach students in Neuroscience and Biology with a simple and effective approach! Students will learn the material while understanding the broader relevance of what they are learning and how what they learn can directly be used in Neuroscience research and in answering key scientific questions in the field of Neuroscience. I have taught university/college level courses in Neuroscience and Biology including Neurobiology, Neurophysiology, Developmental Biology, Stem Cell Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology, and General Biology. I can tutor students at all levels from university (undergraduate and graduate level), or high school. I make learning these subjects interactive, fun and exciting, and students come away learning a lot in my courses and feel ready to progress to their next level! Whether you are aiming for graduate or medical school, I can help you in learning the material that is critical and relevant in this field. I have PowerPoint materials for all of the courses indicated above, and am happy to use student materials as well depending on the needs of each student. I look forward to seeing you in my class!
