About Bo Ellis
Hi, I’m a 23-year-old Neuroscience graduate from the University of Manchester. At school I achieved 9 A*s and 1 A at GCSE, followed by A* in Biology, A* in Psychology and A in Chemistry at A-level, before completing my degree with a 2.1. During my studies I published a paper on communicating neurodegenerative disease to GPs, which really developed my ability to take complex information and explain it simply and clearly.
I’m passionate about helping students feel confident and supported in their learning. My aim is to make studying stress-free, breaking material into manageable, bite-sized chunks that suit each individual. I believe tailored teaching is the key to success, and I design lesson plans around every student’s learning style.
Lessons can range from 30 to 60 minutes and are always focused on syllabus content, with plenty of Quizlet practice, past paper questions, and active recall through whiteboard teaching. I also encourage students to “teach back” the content to me — one of the best ways to check understanding.
I first gained experience tutoring online during Covid, supporting a range of students including those with SEN, and I bring the same patience, clarity and encouragement to every lesson.
