About Elinor

*I ought to preface this section by explaining my love for English— as someone who is not naturally gifted in the science or mathematics, I’ve always seen English as a good escape or remedy for this fact when I feel that I’m not the best student. As someone who knows what it feels like to struggle in certain areas, it would do wonders for me to potentially be able to aid others in finding their own area of expertise, and if they have come to find that this particular subject is English, I’ll know I’ll have properly done my job.

About the lesson

*A patient approach towards teaching those who may struggle with the subject of English, or otherwise wish to further enhance their knowledge and aptitude for the subject.

*As someone who is of a younger age, I find it easier to comprehend which teaching methods work for certain individuals,. My methods typically include going over certain areas of weakness, assessing and identifying strengths and areas of improvement, and typically providing encouragement wherever necessary.

*A lesson would typically be around an hour long, but it is subject for negotiation depending on the age and needs of the pupil in question. As someone who is still young, I would not expect much payment, as my payment would typically come in the form of seeing a child improve their skills and attitudes revolving around the subject of English. While my age might appear to be a hinderance, I prefer to look at it from a relatability standpoint, as I feel I am best equipped to aid others my age.

*Typically I can teach any age, but would find my skills best equipped for those in the setting of GCSE years, as I have recently experienced these myself.

*As mentioned, I have received two grade 9s in each subject of English, that of English literature and English language, and have also received a scholarship for English language.
