About Emma
I have just finished my teacher training final placement, and I'm already missing being in the classroom! Therefore, I'm hoping to do some tutoring over the summer to keep myself occupied and help make a difference, before I start my NQT job in September.
I have completed my Initial Teacher Training year in Secondary Mathematics and my PGCE with the University of Bristol.
I have a 1st class degree in History and Economics from Cardiff University, A-Levels in Maths, Economics and History (A, A, A), and A*'s at GCSE in both Maths and Further Maths.

In my teacher training year I have developed effective mathematics teaching techniques, and have been trained to teach for 'mastery', which involves developing a deep and secure understanding in students. In a practical sense, this means the students understand why we use the formulae and methods we do, rather than just being able to recite them. I encourage questioning and discussion based teaching, and create a warm and comfortable environment for children to learn.
I offer online tutoring sessions from between half an hour to an hour and a half, and am flexible with time, particularly over the summer holidays. Specialising in KS3, but would also tutor at GCSE.
