About Nicholas

Currently I am completing my teacher education course in Ontario but I've amassed hundreds of tutoring hours in elementary math, French, English, and science.

I've also worked ~3000 hours as a full-time English teacher in South Korea which taught me so much about how different students vary, and general teaching strategies.

I take each student’s goals seriously and come prepared to every lesson. Whether you need help understanding a difficult concept, preparing for an exam, or building confidence in a subject, I’ll work with you to create a clear and supportive plan that works best for you.

About the lesson

Hi! I’m Nick, an Ontario teacher candidate with several years of experience tutoring students in math, science, and English!

I enjoy making difficult subjects feel less intimidating and helping students build the confidence to work through problems independently. My approach uses differentiated instruction and is student-focused: I adjust my explanations, examples, and activities based on how each student learns best. I encourage students to ask questions and make mistakes, creating a relaxed environment where they can learn without feeling pressured.

A typical lesson starts by identifying what the student is struggling with and reviewing any important concepts they may be missing. From there, we’ll work through examples together before having the student try problems independently.

Lessons will differ if you're looking for guidance for test prep, or if you're practicing literacy and conversational English.

I’ve worked with students of a wide range of ages and abilities in Canada, Ukraine, and South Korea. I can help students catch up on difficult material, prepare for tests and exams, improve their grades, or simply develop a deeper understanding of the subject.

I tutor elementary and high school students, with a particular focus on math, biology, and general science. I’m also happy to work with students who need additional support, are struggling with confidence, or simply want to get ahead.
