About Anna

Currently, I’m working on obtaining my MSCP from Northeastern University, and aspire to continue my education to the doctoral level beyond that.

Eight years ago, I started volunteering with a preschool education program in my area, and after a few years was hired to be the assistant director. I also tutored and babysat through high school for children between the ages of 5 and 17. Most recently, I was employed as an ABA therapist, working with neurodivergent/disabled clients as young as 5 and as old as 19 in both educational and life skills related pursuits.

Although I’ve tutored in many different areas, ELA is by far my favorite. I have always been a very strong reader and writer, and in college would proofread my friends papers for fun. I have experience writing everything from creative projects to essays to research papers.

About the lesson

Hi! My name is Anna, and I’m a counseling psychology graduate student at Northeastern University looking to tutor remotely. As an educator, I’m the most skilled when it comes to teaching ELA (vocabulary, spelling, creative/essay writing, reading, comprehension etc.), but can assist with other courses or skills as well if need be. I will treat our first meeting like a consultation, and do my best to help you while learning as much as I can about the level you’re at and where you require assistance. If you only require one session, I’ll meet you where you’re at, and ensure that by the end you feel more confident with any concerns you brought to me. If we meet beyond our first session, I’ll help you as much as I can during our meetings with the areas you’re struggling with while challenging you to perform to your greatest potential as you improve.

I have worked with children and teenagers of all ages (3-19), and have experience working with clients who are neurodivergent, possess learning disabilities, and/or are cognitively impaired. I am adept at coming up with individualized approaches and lesson plans tailored to each individual client, because what everyone needs is different! While I am most experienced working with K-12 students, I can also assist college students with their essay writing. No matter who you are, or where you are in your education, I’m looking forward to working with you!
