About Mya
Hi! I'm Mya, and I tutor English, literary analysis, SAT prep, and resume crafting because I've been there. I've taken AP classes in high school, and I have developed my writing abilities and resume in order to build my professional career as a teacher, Northwestern alumna, and current graduate student in Creative Writing at University of South Florida.
As your tutor and your academic support system, I help you identify your trouble spots and your strengths, develop your critical analysis in English Language Arts and literature, and empower you through your educational journey. For my K-12 students and college students, my first session's always free so we can see if we are a good match!
I'm excited about building your skills and your confidence together. The amazing part is that you're more than halfway there!

Hey there! I tutor English, literary analysis, reading comprehension, SAT prep, and resume preparation. I bring the understanding that learning can be both joyful and challenging.
My sessions for K-12 as well as undergraduate students start with a quick check-in on where you’re at and what your goals are for our sessions. Then, I scaffold your learning: guided practice, independent work with nourishing and specific feedback from me, and weekly progress checks.
Deepening content retention, developing critical analysis, and building confidence are important aspects of my pedagogy. I have 4+ years of teaching young people all aspects of English and writing. I am also a writer myself, so I understand the intricacies of the craft.
