About Womah
The most honest proof of my tutoring isn't a certificate — it's my three children. I raised them, taught them, and watched them grow into STEM professionals: one is an interventional cardiologist who holds a bachelor's in electrical engineering and a master's in biomedical engineering; another is a software engineer who graduated from UC Berkeley; and my youngest is currently a junior at Purdue University studying industrial engineering and computer science. I didn't just support their education from the sidelines — I was in the trenches with them, teaching math, physics, and chemistry from the early grades all the way through the advanced coursework that shaped their careers.
That experience, combined with my own dual master's degrees in nuclear engineering and radiation physics, gives me something rare: I know both sides of the table. I know what it feels like to master difficult material, and I know what it takes to guide a young mind through the frustration of not understanding — yet. Today I carry that same hands-on approach into my current students: an 8th grader I'm taking through chemistry and a 4th grader I'm teaching math and Scratch programming. Every lesson I give is informed by decades of real teaching, real results, and a family that is living proof that the method works.

My tutoring style is built on one core belief: a strong foundation makes everything else possible. I think of learning like a pyramid — wide, solid base first, then everything else stacks naturally on top. Too many students are taught in reverse, piling advanced concepts onto shaky fundamentals, and then wonder why things keep falling apart. Before we ever move forward, I make sure the basics are genuinely understood — not memorized, not guessed at, but truly owned. Once that base is solid, the next level almost builds itself.
I bring that same philosophy to every subject, but where my background really comes alive is in physics and chemistry. I don't teach these as abstract formulas — I connect every concept to something real. Why does a rocket accelerate? Why does ice float? Why does mixing bleach and ammonia create a dangerous gas? Real questions with real answers that students can see, touch, and connect to their everyday lives. When a middle schooler realizes that the physics behind a skateboard trick is the same physics behind a nuclear reactor, something clicks — and once it clicks, it stays. That's the moment I teach for.
