About Joan
Hi! I am a first year nursing student although I was a previous student in the faculty of arts studying sociology and politics. I know that is such a huge change! I have realized my love of biology and science in general and love combining knowledge from all the different areas I have spent my time studying. My goal is to make learning biology as fun and engaging as possible for both high school and university students. I hope to show just how interconnected the creativity I learnt while in the arts and a life science are related! I aim to make learning engaging and interesting through kahoot review quizzes, practice exams with explanations and YouTube videos! I can't wait to make learning for you an individual and fun process!

- I utilize mainly PowerPoint slides accompanied by YouTube videos, handwritten explanations and end of session quizzes with fun review kahoots in sessions and practice papers. - A typical lesson starts with a review kahoot of past material covered then a discussion of answers; then the current lesson embedded with YouTube videos and diagrams along with slides. Lastly a final review kahoot game and questions! - I like employing lots of breaks and fun kahoots and practice quizzes for students to be comfortable with the class material and content. I generally want to make learning a fun and interactive experience! Reading lots of pages of text isn't always ideal. My lessons are primarily for high school students in grades 11 or 12 taking biology 20 or 30 and 1st year microbiology at the university level (MMI 133)
