About James
I’m James, a Mechanical Engineering student at NYU soon to begin my journey as a Design Engineer at General Motors. My work focuses on transforming creative ideas into practical, high-performing designs—something I bring into every tutoring session. Having led engineering teams and collaborated with professionals in the automotive industry, I’ve learned to explain complex concepts with clarity and patience. I take pride in making technical material approachable, breaking it down as if I were learning it for the first time. My approach is both structured and flexible, ensuring each student feels comfortable asking questions and truly understands the “why” behind what they learn. Whether it’s mastering design principles, engineering fundamentals, or technical software, I aim to build confidence and curiosity in every student I teach.

My approach to tutoring starts by viewing each topic through the student’s perspective. I focus on breaking down complex ideas into simple, relatable explanations that make sense even if you’re learning them for the first time. Each lesson is structured around understanding, not memorization, we start with a clear overview, move into hands-on examples, and finish by applying the concept to real world problems.
I keep the atmosphere relaxed and open, encouraging questions and discussion so learning feels natural and enjoyable rather than stressful. What sets me apart is my ability to make technical subjects approachable while still challenging students to think critically and creatively. My lessons are best suited for high school and college students who want to strengthen their foundation, improve confidence, and truly understand the “why” behind what they’re learning.
