About Alyssa
Outside of the classroom, I am an artist, currently working in Painting, although I majored in both Sculpture and Printmaking. I have a firm understanding of the Elements and Principles of Design, and the creative process. I believe my artistic skills and knowledge of Indigenous and Contemporary art will be aspects that I can transfer to my students. I am also keen to stay up to date on current artistic practices.
Additionally, I am a musician and vocalist. I love to sing, and I have up to Grade 8 Royal Conservatory of Music training on the piano. I am also a self-taught ukulele player. I am qualified to teach Vocal music at a secondary level.

A typical lesson with me begins with a Minds On activity that leads into the opening, body and closing. My lessons centre around one Big Idea that stems directly from Curriculum Expectations. My job allows me to work with students of all ages, therefore I have experience working with any Grade level! These lessons are perfect for students who wish to build upon their artistic skill set.
