About Adas
I was brought up in a very musical family and learning the guitar and piano was second nature to me. I quickly started to compose music when I started playing - quite evidently I was a composer! I primarily focused on the piano, however kept returning to the guitar as it fascinated me and still fascinated me today.
My primary experience with playing the guitar is in Latin American folk music. My father showed me the ropes, teaching me rhythm and chord structures that serve me to this day.
I started learning jazz and bossa nova guitar on my own a few years ago and discovered I loved it. It is truly remarkable what you can achieve with a little perseverance and determination. Granted, you need some talent, but I honestly believe anyone can learn the guitar.
Today I teach both the guitar and piano. I can impart a great deal of knowledge and wisdom to you when it comes to music in general, as I believe to learn the guitar, you also need other skills that work in tandem. If you decide you want to have me as your tutor, I look forward to teaching you guitar 101.

Before your first lesson we'll establish what kind of strategy for learning we need to employ and tailor the lessons around your specific hopes and aspirations.
I like to teach the basics with a plethora of chord voicings, more complicated as you progress, and just as important, rhythm and dexterity. This sets you up with the ability to play any song you like with confidence and guile. I follow this with scales and lead work, but this isn't my speciality.
I am a combination of family and self taught with lots of experience playing in a Latin American folk band. I primarily poly jazz and bossa nova for my own pleasure, as well as Christian music.
I teach for 30 mins - 1 hour to all age groups at a beginner level.
