About Jessica
Hi, I’m Jessica! I’ve always loved exploring stories, ideas, and the way language can open up new ways of thinking. That passion for English literature has shaped not only my studies, but also the way I approach tutoring — with patience, attention to detail, and a genuine enthusiasm for helping others discover what makes a text meaningful. Outside of tutoring, I’m a big fan of arts and crafts, especially crochet and glass painting, where I get to focus on all the little details that bring a project together. I also love spending time with my family, and weekends are often filled with catching up and enjoying their company.

Teaching Approach: Lessons mostly focus on close reading, essay structure, and critical analysis, with tailored guidance to build confidence and clear exam strategies. This approach can be adjusted for students not going into exams. Lesson Length: Sessions typically run for 1–2 hours, depending on student needs. Qualifications & Experience: Achieved A grades in National 5, Higher, and Advanced Higher English; hold a degree in Philosophy and Theology, specialising in religion within English literature. Who It’s For: Students from 1st year through to 6th year in the Scottish system, at all ability levels.

Jessica is a very enthusiastic and fun person with a deep love and knowledge of writing. She is very patient with people, taking the time to walk through her ideas and thoughts if not clear right away. She is incredibly kind and will be a wonderful tutor to anyone lucky enough to work with her.
