About Sneha
Hello! I’m an Industrial Engineering student at Purdue University, and my passion for tutoring stems from my own journey with math. As someone who struggled with math in my early years, I understand the challenges and fears that many young students face. My teachers were incredibly knowledgeable, but they often didn’t grasp my perspective or how to address the anxiety I felt toward the subject. Having experienced that myself, I now approach tutoring with empathy, patience, and a clear focus on building confidence. My goal is to eliminate the fear and confusion surrounding math by providing a well-organized, supportive learning environment. My tutoring journey began when I started teaching my younger brother basic math and counting. That initial experience sparked a love for helping others learn, which led me to offer homework assistance at my local library’s homework help center. Over time, I realized that many young students struggle not because they lack intelligence, but because they fear the subject and have difficulty connecting abstract concepts to real-world experiences. To overcome this, I incorporate storytelling into my lessons. By framing math problems within a narrative, I help students internalize concepts and relate to them in a meaningful way. This approach transforms problem-solving from a daunting task into an engaging, enjoyable process that students can approach with curiosity rather than fear. As a tutor, I pride myself on being calm, patient, and deeply caring. I take the time to get to know each student, understanding their interests and learning styles. This helps me tailor lessons to make math not only understandable but also enjoyable. By aligning their learning with what they love, I encourage students to stay engaged, focus, and work hard toward achieving their goals.

Hi, I’m an Industrial Engineering student at Purdue University, and I’m passionate about helping young learners strengthen their math skills. I specialize in working with K-6 students to develop a solid understanding of basic math concepts, with a focus on arithmetic, problem-solving, and building confidence in problem-solving techniques.
My teaching method is hands-on and visual—I believe in using diagrams, models, and other visual aids to help explain abstract concepts. Each lesson is designed to be interactive and engaging, with a combination of direct instruction, guided practice, and independent problem-solving. I always include practice problems to reinforce what’s been learned, ensuring that students gain a deeper understanding of the material.
In a typical lesson, we’ll start with a brief review of previous concepts to ensure retention, followed by introducing new material through visual aids. Then we’ll work through a set of practice problems together to build confidence and understanding, ending with a short recap and additional practice for the student to complete after the session.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to connect with young learners. I’m patient, friendly, and have a bubbly personality that makes learning fun. I understand how important it is for kids to feel confident in their math skills, and I’m committed to creating a positive, supportive environment where they can thrive.
I offer online tutoring for K-6 students looking to master math fundamentals and boost their confidence.
Tutoring via Zoom with interactive whiteboards and OneNote.
