About Oscar
I’m an actor and musician who currently works in schools as a teaching assistant, supporting students across a range of abilities. This has given me strong experience adapting explanations and working within structured learning environments. Much of my work has involved supporting SEN students, developing my clarity, adaptability, and confidence in one-to-one settings. This experience, along with teaching music, carries through into my tutoring, helping me create a calm, supportive environment where students feel comfortable learning and asking questions. I’m professional, approachable, and experienced in educational settings, committed to helping every student feel supported and confident in their learning.

My lessons are online, typically 60 minutes, and tailored to each student’s learning style. I focus on clear explanations and step-by-step problem solving, helping students understand why methods work rather than simply memorising them. I achieved an A in Scottish Higher Maths and 100% in National 5 Maths, giving me strong familiarity with exam content and marking expectations. My background as an actor and musician strengthens my communication skills, allowing me to explain concepts clearly in a relaxed, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. Lessons are suitable for GCSE and National 5 students, with support available for Higher or AS Level where required. I help with exam preparation, homework support, and reinforcing key topics.
