About Robert
I’m a passionate musician and dedicated guitar educator with over 10 years of teaching experience and thousands of hours spent working in educational settings. Alongside my teaching, I maintain an active music career that includes session recording work and radio appearances on Wythenshawe FM and BBC Introducing, as well as a growing online presence through YouTube with thousands of streams across my releases. My teaching experience spans professional music services, private music schools, and extensive one-to-one tutoring, including work within schools supporting SEN learners and students with diverse educational needs. Over the years I’ve helped many players progress through graded examinations while also developing broader musicianship skills such as improvisation, time feel, rhythmic subdivision, extended techniques, speed and endurance, fretboard mastery, advanced playing styles, counterpoint, and voice leading. Above all, I teach because I genuinely love sharing knowledge—there’s nothing more rewarding than helping someone unlock new musical abilities and achieve goals they once thought were out of reach.

I offer engaging, professional online guitar lessons tailored to each student through a differentiated teaching approach, ensuring that every learner progresses at the right pace for them. With over 10 years of experience in online education and tutoring, I teach a wide range of styles including Jazz, Fusion, and contemporary guitar, while grounding every lesson in strong musicianship and technique. I hold extensive music theory knowledge up to Grade 5 and beyond and am ABRSM certified, allowing me to support both practical playing and deeper theoretical understanding. My lessons focus on developing the essential fundamentals every musician needs—solid technique, musical awareness, and confident performance skills—and are suitable for students of all ages and abilities. A typical lesson is structured in three parts: we begin with a short introduction reviewing previous concepts, move into the main section where we work towards the student’s current musical goals, and finish with a plenary that consolidates the ideas covered and sets clear, practical homework for the week ahead.
A lesson could last for 30mins to 1hour.
