About Maya
I am currently a junior at Rice University, majoring in business and minoring in entrepreneurship. In the past, I have tutored students at Kumon in Paramus as well as online at a volunteer organization called Million Reasons. As far as mathematics, my highest experience is Linear Algebra and Differential Equations so I feel more than comfortable teaching Algebra, Pre-Algebra, and elementary math.

My teaching approach is to make a fun interactive environment where a student should not feel pressured to get an answer wrong. We learn from our mistakes and use them to progress. I like to demonstrate with games and repeat problems until the student understands the concept.

Maya tutored my daughter during summer break in various math topics to get her ready for 4th grade. She was patient and really organized her lessons to be fun and engaging.
