About Shar
I am an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) with over 10 years of elementary teaching experience, working with students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 5. Throughout my career, I have developed strong expertise in the Ontario curriculum across multiple subject areas, as well as three years of experience teaching Special Education and ESL. I hold additional qualifications in reading and have built significant knowledge and skill in early literacy instruction, particularly in supporting struggling readers and helping them become confident, successful learners. I am deeply committed to helping each student reach their highest potential and take pride in creating a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment that builds both confidence and academic growth. I truly love teaching and find it incredibly rewarding to watch my students learn, progress, and thrive.

As an Ontario‑certified elementary teacher, I take a student‑centred approach that builds confidence, strengthens foundational skills, and supports academic success. I plan lessons based on the Ontario curriculum and tailor instruction to each learner’s style, strengths, and needs.

Lessons typically begin with a review, introduce a new concept with clear instruction, and include guided and independent practice with ongoing feedback. I use assessment‑for‑learning to monitor progress and adjust instruction. What sets me apart is my classroom experience, broad curriculum knowledge, and ability to create a positive, encouraging environment. I work with elementary students of all levels, especially those seeking support in literacy, numeracy, homework help, or confidence building.
