About Julia
With a masters in music performance from Georgia State University, Julia has spent years honing her vocal abilities as well as her piano performance skills. She started studying the Suzuki piano method at the age of 4 and started her vocal studies in college, continuing through her bachelors and masters degrees. Julia has performed in many professional productions such as the Andrea Bocelli Valentines Day Tour, Game of Thrones Tour, professional opera productions and more. Julia has a passion for performing and loves to educate her students on how to not only become a great musician, but to also become a great performer. One area of study that Julia is most passionate about is how to practice. It not only takes a lot of practice to excel in the musical field, but you have to know HOW to practice efficiently. From her own experience, Julia has learned to teach "practice makes permanent" instead of the well-known saying "practice makes perfect." If you learn how to practice incorrectly, then you won't make any progress in the right direction. Julia's goal for her students is to make sure they are learning how to practice in the most efficient way to see improvement and success. Whether that be learning a difficult song, acing an audition, preparing for a recital, whatever your goal is, you can achieve it with the right practice goals and lesson plan tailored just for you.

Julia's approach to voice and piano lessons is individualized to each student. Whether you want to learn how to control and move your voice through advanced riffs or learn how to read the sheet music to your favorite piano piece, no goal is too big with the right lesson plan.
A typical lesson plan for voice would be to go through some warm ups and technical exercises then apply that to a song that presents some challenges and gives us a suitable goal to reach.
Age: 7+
Level: Beginner-Advanced
In regards to piano, a more structured plan that includes following exercises and songs from books such as Faber, Alfred's or even Suzuki is the best option for improved growth.

Level: Beginner-Intermediate
Julia prides herself on listening to her student's needs and interests. Whatever your musical goals are, we can create your own customized lesson plan to reach them.
