About David
My primary interests are those of the archetypal nerd: the sciences & technology. I struggled at school -- not because I was incapable of understanding the content of the courses -- but because I was largely unable to function in the context of the standard learning environment. This is unfortunately a problem that is very common -- there is a significant minority of people who are taught-short by our one-size-fits-all education system. For many of these people their lives will be hamstrung by a lack of power -- insisted by a lack of formal education/knowledge -- To unlock this power is to impart their lives with greater potentials and to imbue mine with greater purpose.

* Students must be curious. * Lessons are very much customizable depending on any student's individual abilities/requirements. One-on-one instruction is preferable (although not a deal-breaker). - Mastery will be sought through practical application/example tailored to the student's existing knowledge base (knowledge will not generally be imparted in isolation). - Problems will generally be viewed through an exploratory/investigatory lens -- with a view toward developing the abilities to engage in first-principles analysis & logic-based/scientific reasoning. - Capable and very willing to tutor adults who struggle with literacy/numeracy, and/or those who are neurodivergent (adults or otherwise).

My rates are very much proportional to my willingness to teach any specific individual(s). I might teach for free -- I mightn't teach no matter the fee.
