About Maria
With 10 years of classroom teaching experience, I am passionate about helping students build confidence and success in mathematics. I was selected to remediate math instruction for an entire 4th grade student body and 85 percent of my 5th grade students performed at or above grade level.
As an A student in all my college level math courses, I have tutored College Algebra, Trigonometry, Precalculus, and Calculus. I have developed a strong ability to explain difficult concepts in simple and understandable ways. I have the understanding of what a middle and high school student needs to go forward in their mathematical conceptual understanding, I look forward to helping them get there and providing support to fill any foundational gaps that would be hindering them currently.

My Approach as a Tutor
I believe every student can succeed in math when concepts are explained clearly, patiently, and step-by-step. This is what I have seen with my own students that I have taught. My goal is not just to help you pass a test, complete homework. I desire to see you thrive and overcome. To help you see why math works. I am very good at detecting gaps in the math foundational skills to assist where needed. I specialize in breaking down difficult concepts into simple, manageable pieces that build confidence and reduce frustration.
As an educator of 10 years, I taught in the elementary school system and saw many of my students overcome their math challenges. Students who said, I can't do this. They became confident and excited about math.
