About Joy
I am an Oxbridge-educated academic tutor with several years of experience supporting pupils across 11+, GCSE, A Level, and university admissions. I currently study Public Policy at the London School of Economics, alongside a First Class degree in English Literature from the University of Cambridge, and bring a rigorous yet supportive approach to academic tutoring. My tutoring is highly structured and outcomes focused. I have supported over 25 pupils through selective school entry and public examinations, achieving a 100% success rate at 11+ and consistent improvements of two to three grade boundaries at GCSE and A Level. I specialise in English, History, Verbal Reasoning, and humanities-based admissions preparation, including interview coaching and academic writing support. I am particularly experienced in working with high-performing, anxious, and SEND learners, and place strong emphasis on confidence building alongside academic progress. I also provide bilingual English–French tutoring for pupils transitioning between education systems, and work closely with parents to ensure clear communication, progress tracking, and tailored support. My aim is not only to help students achieve outstanding results, but to equip them with the skills, confidence, and independence needed to thrive in competitive academic environments.
