About Joseph
Hi! I'm Joe, and I'm in my third year of studying Chemistry at Oxford University. I love taking about, explaining, and teaching Chemistry. I'd love to help your child to improve at (and enjoy!) Chemistry, whether that's because they're struggling, or because they want an extra challenge.
I have tutored Chemistry for the GAMSAT, KS3 Maths, and taught languages to primary school children.
I live in London and go to university in Oxford. In my spare time I volunteer as a Police Officer!

If your child is struggling with Chemistry, I can help go through the bits they don't understand more slowly than in school, and perhaps in a few different ways, until one sticks. I will listen to what it is your child is struggling with and am happy to be led by them, but am also happy to provide a more structured learning environment if that is necessary.
If your child is looking for more of a challenge I'd love to sit and chat with them about Chemistry, perhaps preparing them for the rigorous interviews they will face if they choose to apply to Oxford.
A standard lesson is 45 minutes in a tutorial style - helping them get to the answer themselves, rather than just giving it to them; this learning style helps the material sink in.

Perfect! Joseph is an excellent tutor. I would say his main strength is that he thinks logically and he is able to put that thought process across in a clear way. This means that he doesn’t just have the knowledge, he’s also able to provide different points of view to tackle each question/topic. I went to him to get help with the chemistry I needed to know for the GAMSAT exam, which is an unusual request, but he understood the nature of the exam and he was perfectly able to help. This also shows his adaptability, making him a great tutor for any student. Always on time, always prepared, provides notes from the lesson and additional material to review. My only regret is that I didn’t go to him earlier!! I will certainly need more chemistry tutoring in the future and there’s no doubt in my mind that I will contact him again. I 100% recommend him and I genuinely hope to help him reach more students through this review, as he deserves it and will be doing lots of good! Thanks Joe see you again soon!
