About Emma
As a doctoral student, I taught undergraduate students for several years. To this end, I also took a teacher training course.
Over the past eight years, I have been tutoring in several countries. I started teaching French, English, History and Latin in the Netherlands. I then moved to France to study French for a year, while teaching English to a number of primary students. Subsequently, during the summer vacation of my undergraduate degree, I taught English to university students from all over Spain in Madrid and at the same time gave private lessons to children in Madrid. In addition, I was previously a mentor at UCL Academy, a secondary school based in Swiss Cottage, London, and taught German and Latin as part of an after-school program for children in the 'primary school. Finally, I set up and ran a program where free debate workshops were held in primary schools in London.

I am a university teaching assistant and a doctoral candidate. I have an MA from the University of Oxford and a BA from University College London. For the past eight years, I have taught English, History and Latin to students in UK, Spain, France, Turkey and the Netherlands. I have taught children and adults from 4 to 45 years old and of all levels. I firmly believe that the best way to learn a subject is to immerse myself in it, so my classes not only focus on rote learning, but also on active engagement with the subject through games, debates. and conversations.
Each person learns in a unique way and as such I take pride in tailoring each lesson to their individual needs. To this end, I would like to meet with the student before starting lessons in order to get an idea of the type of teaching material to which he or she responds best.
