About Stella
I'm Stella, and I am an Oxford Law Graduate (2023) and a Future Pupil Barrister with several years of Secondary School and Oxbridge admission tutoring. While studying law and volunteering in various sectors, I have discovered how much I enjoy helping others learn by breaking down challenging material and seeing students gain confidence. My aim is to make learning feel less intimidating and more empowering. I bring the same organisation and attention to detail from my legal training into my tutoring. I take time to understand the way my students think and what motivates them, so I can help them build real confidence and independence as learners. I take pride in designing thoughtful and tailored lessons that not only improve academic performance but also further critical thinking. These are skills which will stay with my students long after their exams or interviews. My past students have often told me that my feedback has helped them see their progress in a tangible way and has inspired long-lasting self-belief. This is something I find deeply rewarding.

As a tutor my aim is to move my students beyond rote preparation and towards critical understanding and real intellectual confidence. To achieve this, I develop tailored study materials to address individual strengths and weaknesses. In addition, I make bespoke lesson plans, create and mark mock exams and grade essays. I tutor in the following subjects: Law (A-Level and Undergraduate), English Literature and History (A-Level). I also tutor LNAT, Oxbridge applications, interviews and other scholarship applications. I tutor levels from Year 7- Year 13. My approach focuses on clear and empathetic communication. I adjust my teaching style to take into account learning difficulties and the individual student’s learning and communication style. In doing so, I am able to simplify complex ideas in a digestible, yet precise way, encouraging active questioning and critical thinking. This results in my students fostering a genuine understanding of the subject matter of the lessons. Many of my previous students have gone from obtaining average grades to achieving ATARS of 99+ (A Level equivalent A*A*A*) and were awarded prestigious scholarships and Oxbridge offers.
