About Asirini
I enjoy helping younger siblings and friends at school with their work, especially essay subjects, and so I chose to start tutoring online. I also have a passion for the subject and in true modern studies fashion, I like to keep up with the latest developments in areas relating to the subject like criminology, law and politics. So, I have both the experience and enthusiasm for this kind of role!

I am an undergraduate studying Law at the University of Oxford, having taken Modern Studies, English and RMPS at an Advanced Higher Level. I also took Modern Studies, English, RMPS, French and Mathematics at a Higher level, achieving A band 1s for all of my qualifications and 30/30, 30/30 and 28/30 respectively for my dissertations.
At Advanced Higher level I specialised in understanding criminal behaviour and responses to crime, with a particular focus on the impact of Covid-19 on existing injustices in the Criminal Justice system on which I wrote a dissertation that scored 30/30. Though your dissertation may not cover similar ground, I can still assist you with dissertation writing as (after writing three dissertations at Advanced Higher level) I have found that the core skills required are those involved in academic research and the eloquent presentation of one's conclusions. If dissertation writing is an area you are interested in, we will have targeted sessions in order to develop these skills and plan/review your work as the dissertation progresses.
As well as the areas covered at Advanced Higher level, for Higher I specialised in China (as a World Power), Social Inequalities and Democracy in the UK and Scotland. Following my completion of the Constitutional Law module undergraduate level at Oxford, I can provide an even richer insight into the specifics of the devolution settlement and the politico-legal nature of democracy in the UK. These are areas in which I have particular expertise, but if these are not your topics, that does not mean I cannot help you or your grade. Indeed, Modern Studies is more about the skills you develop both for writing essays and learning information. It is these skills that we will focus on during our classes. In furtherance of this aim, we can spend some sessions focussing specifically on exam technique and tackling source questions as the transferrable skills from these areas of the course will aid your performance throughout.
As well as these specific modules within the Advanced Higher course and the dissertation, I can also provide help with exam technique in terms of essay writing and tackling source questions.
