About Matt
I am a graduate in History from the University of Oxford and have a Masters in Public Policy (another way of saying politics) from King's College, University of London.
As well as tutoring, I have lots of experience in researching and writing. I am a published author and editor of a book, published by Routledge, on 'compassion in politics' and have also written widely for newspapers both in my own and as a ghost-author.
I live in Beckenham in South East London and tutor there, in the surrounding Bromley area, and online.
As well as tutoring I play piano, tennis, and get out and about with our insatiably energetic Border Collie. I am also a trained mentor for young people, currently mentoring at a school in Bromley.

As a tutor, I prioritise being friendly, encouraging, patient, and responsive to the needs and preferred styles of the pupils I work with. I endeavour to make the lessons engaging and creative - supporting pupils to really understand and think critically about the subject.
I am also able to offer coaching for Oxbridge applicants on how to apply, prep for, and approach the interview and any entry exams.
