About Georgia
I hold a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Oxford, and I also hold distinction level undergraduate and master’s degrees in Mathematics. Alongside my studies and research, I have spent over ten years tutoring mathematics professionally, helping students of all levels develop both skill and confidence in the subject.
My work as a mathematician has been recognised with national awards for clear and engaging communication, reflecting my commitment to making complex ideas understandable and enjoyable. I am passionate about showing that mathematics is not just about memorising formulas - it’s about reasoning, creativity, and the satisfaction of problem-solving.
Having completed my doctorate, I work as a professional mathematician at the University of Oxford while continuing to tutor in my spare time. Tutoring allows me to share my enthusiasm for mathematics and help students discover the joy and logic that lie at its heart.
My tutoring experience spans a wide range of ages and abilities - from primary school pupils to undergraduates. I have worked with both high-achieving students seeking enrichment and those who need extra support to build confidence and understanding.
At the University of Oxford, I have taught and supported undergraduate and master’s courses, marked the Mathematics Admissions Test (MAT), and interviewed candidates for undergraduate admissions. These experiences have given me a deep insight into what top universities look for and how students can best prepare for rigorous mathematical study.
Beyond academia, I have guided many students through GCSEs, A-levels, and university entrance exams, focusing on developing intuition and problem-solving skills as much as exam technique. I take great satisfaction in helping learners overcome obstacles, gain independence, and truly enjoy their progress.
Having worked with students across all levels, I have now chosen to focus my tutoring on A-level, university, and admissions preparation. These stages of study bring together the depth and creativity of mathematics that I most enjoy teaching, and they allow me to draw directly on my academic experience at Oxford. I find it especially rewarding to help students bridge the gap between school and university mathematics - strengthening their conceptual understanding, sharpening their analytical thinking, and building the confidence needed to excel in exams and interviews.

My approach is centred on clarity, curiosity, and confidence. I aim to create lessons that are interactive, encouraging, and tailored to each student’s learning style and goals.
Mathematics can seem abstract, so I focus on building intuition and linking new ideas to familiar concepts and real-world examples. I encourage students to ask questions, explore patterns, and see how mathematical thinking applies beyond the classroom. Whether working on exam preparation or exploring advanced topics, I adapt my teaching to keep sessions engaging and productive.
Above all, I want my students to come away not just with stronger grades, but with a deeper understanding and lasting appreciation for mathematics, and the confidence to tackle any challenge it presents.

Perfect! Having searched for a while to find an A level maths tutor for my daughter I was concerned about ever finding someone suitable, until I discovered Georgia. She is kind and patient and took the time to understand my daughter’s needs before planning the first session. She makes my daughter feel relaxed and comfortable at every session and has given her the confidence to move forward with her studies. As a parent I receive regular feed back on my daughter’s progress and am able to contact Georgia easily if I have any questions. My daughter receives regular homework, and I am so pleased to see how Georgia inspires her to work both independently and in her sessions. Georgia has the skills and qualifications to tutor maths at all levels and I highly recommend her.

Georgia is a very pleasant, clever, beautiful and caring individual. She was great with Jaz and Jaz loves her. Georgia is an amazing maths teacher, with an abundance of knowledge. I recommend Georgia to anyone looking for a proper Tutor, I have tried many before Georgia and none are up to her standards.
Georgia taught Amell Maths, Amell is autistic and is currently out of school due to the council waiting to provide me with school placements. Amell loves maths and is a smart kid, Georgia was able to test him, explain clearly how to do stuff and really brought out Amell true potential. Amell sometimes find it hard to concentrate, Georgia's personality and teaching style made it so easy for Amell to sit and learn for an hour with no problem, he was even sad to finish which I have never seen before. I could not rate georgia enough, she provides homework also for Amell to complete when hes not been taught by georgia. I am very thankful and lucky to have found Georgia.
I couldn’t recommend Georgia enough, she tutored me with both my GCSE & A level maths. Georgia is very patient during tutoring sessions and always shows various ways to approach a question. She is so easy to get along with and encourages you to push yourself every session. I also appreciated that she always sent me extra questions for revision and was always happy to send me her worked version of a question I struggled with.
