About Koushika
Hi! I’m a college student with a strong foundation in Bharatanatyam and a deep love for teaching children. I began learning Bharatanatyam at a young age and trained for several years, and while I eventually stopped formal classes, I never stopped dancing. Today, I continue to perform and choreograph as part of my college dance team, where I also help guide non-classical dancers in learning classical movements for stage performances. I’m passionate, patient, and committed to creating a supportive and joyful learning environment. I may not hold a formal degree in dance, but I bring hands-on experience, a solid classical base, and a teaching style that connects well with young learners. My focus is on helping children build a strong foundation in Bharatanatyam while developing their confidence, creativity, and love for the art.

I’m a Bharatanatyam dancer with over five years of foundational training during childhood, and I’ve continued to stay actively involved in classical dance through performances and choreography in college. I am currently part of my departmental dance team in college, and I do train non-classical dancers for Bharatanatyam/semi-classical performances. My classes blend structure with playfulness, where little dancers learn adavus, mudras, rhythm, and expressions at their own pace, with lots of encouragement and personal attention. What makes me a good teacher is my ability to create a positive, safe and non-judgmental space for kids to explore dance freely while still learning the discipline through the art form. I offer online classes through Zoom or Google Meet, with flexible timings. I believe early exposure to art builds confidence, creativity, and shapes cultural identity. Dance isn’t just about movement; it’s about expression and self-discovery. My goal is to nurture that connection in every class I teach.
