About Ty
I am currently an English and Spanish final year student at the University of Southampton. I am devoted to learning about new languages and cultures, which has led me to living abroad in Madrid, and travelling around Asia. I aim to enlighten and educate students about the wonders of English and Spanish in a way that is innovative, visual, and easy to follow; an alternative to the usual mundane routine of sitting behind a classroom desk!
I have obtained a year's worth of teaching experience, teaching English to primary school children in Madrid, where I planned several learning activities, from Jolly Phonics, to learning English through nursery rhymes. I learned that the best approach to tutoring is to begin by understanding the best way in which the student is able to learn. Whether that is visually, aurally, or verbally, I am able to tailor my teaching methods to best engage with clients.

I believe Ty would be extremely well suited to becoming a Tutor. On plenty of occasions Ty has helped me with my studying and revision. During our A-Levels Ty successfully organised a one-on-one study session with myself to help me revise for my English A-Levels. She printed out all relevant information and created a revision booklet which was easy to follow and engaging. It encouraged me to revise and be more productive. Ty is extremely organised and the skills she had shown and used during the one-to-one study session such as reliability, patience, helpfulness, understanding, being clear and efficient are transferable to a job as a Tutor.
