About Priya
I am a friendly, approachable, and dedicated Geography teacher who genuinely enjoys building strong relationships with my students and their families. I believe that trust and good communication are at the heart of successful tutoring, and I take the time to really get to know each student, their strengths, their challenges, and how they learn best.
My approach is supportive but structured. I create a calm, positive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their confidence without pressure. I’m patient, encouraging, and consistent, which helps students stay motivated and engaged over time.
I also believe that learning shouldn’t be limited to just the lesson itself. I offer ongoing support throughout the week, whether that’s answering questions, reviewing work, or helping students stay on track with their studies. This continuous support helps build independence while ensuring students never feel stuck or overwhelmed.
Alongside this, my experience as a classroom teacher and in a Teaching and Learning leadership role means I understand how to guide students effectively towards their goals, while keeping their wellbeing and confidence at the centre of everything I do.

My teaching approach focuses on making geography engaging, relevant, and accessible. I bring the subject to life by drawing on real-world experiences from my travels, helping students connect classroom concepts to the world around them. Lessons are tailored to each student’s needs, whether that’s building core knowledge, improving exam technique, or developing confidence. I use a mix of discussion, case studies, visual resources, and exam practice to ensure students fully understand and can apply what they learn.
Typical length of a lesson
Lessons are typically 1 hour long, allowing enough time to cover key content, practise skills, and review progress without overwhelming the student.
Qualifications and experience
I hold a BA, PGCE, QTS, and an MA. I have 15 years of experience teaching geography and have also held responsibility for Teaching and Learning within a school, giving me strong insight into effective educational strategies and student progress.

I teach students from Key Stage 3 through to A-Level, supporting a wide range of abilities and goals—from building foundational understanding to achieving top exam results.
