About Alex
Greetings! I'm Alex, your dedicated teacher. With a background in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a passion for nurturing technical proficiency and life skills, I offer a unique learning experience. I focus a lot on problem-solving and analytical thinking through the fascinating interplay of coding, math, and chess which creates a strong, complementary learning experience - each one strengthens the other! Last but not least, I enjoy working with kids! I create a friendly environment and always try to connect with them. Over my 5+ years of teaching, I've had students make great progress. I am really happy to witness their progress and their creative coding projects. One of my proudest moments was seeing a student reach a 2000+ chess rating, beat master-level players, and win local tournaments!

"You can only get good at chess if you love the game." - Bobby Fischer With a Lichess rating of 2250 and over 2100 on chess.com, I've gained a deep understanding of the game. I am here to help beginners and anyone wanting to improve! Everyone responds differently to learning, so I adjust my lessons to match your style. Chess can be challenging, but I will do my best to make it feel natural for you. Last but not least, I enjoy working with kids! Perfect! Alex is just an amazing teacher! He analyzed my games and pointed out my common mistakes and I loved that he managed to keep it fun and easy to comprehend. Alex is a very talented teacher with great communication skills and emotional intelligence. He understands exactly what the student needs and works on that while keeping the student active , encouraged and passionate.
Alex is an amazing chess tutor! He has a gift for teaching the game in a way that allows his students to develop their own intuition for the game. He really takes the time to explain things in a way that makes sense. I have much from him and I am a better player because of it.
