About MJ

Hello! I'm MJ, a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English with experience as a tutor and a strong passion for helping students become confident English readers and communicators. I believe that every learner has the ability to succeed when given the right guidance, encouragement, and learning environment.

My teaching style is interactive, student-centred, and built around a peer-to-peer approach that makes learning feel engaging rather than intimidating. I tailor every lesson to each student's needs, learning pace, and goals, ensuring that they not only improve their reading, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation but also gain the confidence to use English in everyday situations.

About the lesson

Learning English should be enjoyable, practical, and confidence-building. As a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English and an experienced tutor, I use a peer-to-peer teaching approach that creates a relaxed and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, expressing their ideas, and learning from their mistakes.

My lessons are interactive and tailored to each student's goals and learning style. A typical lesson includes a warm-up activity, vocabulary and pronunciation practice, guided reading, comprehension exercises, grammar integration, and engaging discussions to improve both reading and speaking skills. I provide constructive feedback throughout every lesson to help students recognise their progress and build confidence.

What sets me apart is my patience, adaptability, and passion for teaching. I believe every learner has the potential to succeed when given the right guidance and encouragement. Rather than simply teaching English, I focus on helping students become independent, confident readers and communicators.

My lessons are suitable for elementary, secondary, and beginner to intermediate English learners, including students who need help with school subjects, reading comprehension, grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary development, homework support, or conversational English.
