About Raelene

I’m a passionate guitar tutor with over 12 years of experience, specializing in teaching college students. My goal is to help students not only learn to play guitar but also to truly enjoy and connect with music. I teach a variety of styles, including classical, jazz, electric, bass, and acoustic guitar, and focus on making lessons both fun and effective.

My teaching style is interactive, student-focused, and adaptable. I believe in clear communication and take the time to understand each student’s unique learning style, so I can tailor lessons to suit their individual needs. I encourage a lot of hands-on practice and provide real-world examples to make learning feel relevant and engaging.

I also introduce innovative methods like ear training, improvisation, and rhythm exercises to help students build a deeper understanding of music theory and playing techniques. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your skills, I’m here to guide you on your musical journey and help you achieve your goals. Let’s make music together!

My teaching methodology is built on five core values: Communication, Empathy, Flexibility, Cultural Sensitivity, and Integrity.

For guitar lessons, I believe clear communication is key to ensuring students understand concepts and techniques. I tailor my lessons based on the student’s learning style, providing personalized instruction that suits their pace and goals. I strive to create a supportive and empathetic environment, where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them.

Flexibility is crucial in adapting lessons to fit the student’s progress, interests, and availability. I also integrate cultural sensitivity into my teaching, recognizing that music is a universal language and can be influenced by different cultural backgrounds.

Whether you're learning guitar or other subjects, I prioritize integrity by being honest, encouraging, and transparent, always aiming to foster a positive and productive learning experience. Together, we will work towards achieving your musical and academic goals.
