About Erika

An undergraduate student studying Psychology and Speech and Hearing Science at Macquarie University, with a special passion for speech pathology and therapy. With over two years of tutoring experience at leading Sydney companies, I have worked with students to help them grow from getting sound marks to achieving higher Band 6s and A grades of over 90% in their assessment tasks! Having personally achieved Band 6s in English Advanced, Extension 1, Society and Culture, and Ancient History – including a 97 in Society and Culture and 39/40 on my Personal Interest Project – I understand exactly what’s required to excel at the highest level. I use that insight to guide my students towards similar success. I’m passionate about building genuine connections with my students and being both a tutor and a mentor – someone they feel they can rely on throughout their learning journey! My aim is to make studying feel positive and rewarding, and to inspire a lifelong love for learning. When I’m not tutoring, you’ll find me watching films, reading, writing short stories, or swimming, and I bring that same creativity, enthusiasm, and energy into every lesson to keep them engaging, supportive, and tailored to each student’s unique needs!

About the lesson

I work closely with each student to understand their needs and goals, tailoring lessons to suit their learning style! My approach uses real-life examples to make concepts easier to connect with and remember, alongside utilizing resources such as sample responses to clarify expectations without overwhelming explanations. Lessons are fun, engaging, and encouraging, helping students feel confident and at ease. With over two years of experience tutoring students from K-12 at prominent tutoring companies, and a 94 ATAR, I offer flexible lesson lengths from 30 minutes to 3 hours. I teach students from Kindergarten to Year 12, making learning enjoyable and effective for all ages. For younger students, I specialize in phonetics, spelling, and grammar rules, and for older students, HSC preparation to build confidence and achieve those Band 6s!
