About Iris
I’m a dedicated piano teacher with over 2 years of experience and an Associate of Music in Piano Skills, passionate about helping students grow into confident and versatile performers. I work with students who are preparing for real-world musical settings such as church worship leading, community theater accompaniment, and professional wedding bands. My lessons are personalized to match your goals, whether you want to support a choir, accompany singers, or perform in live events.
I focus on building strong foundational skills like timing, chord progressions, and musical awareness. At the same time, I guide you in developing the flexibility needed for live performance. Playing in these settings requires quick thinking and adaptability. I help you build those skills step by step.
My teaching approach is motivating and supportive. I create a space where you feel encouraged to grow and take on new challenges. Lessons are interactive and focused on practical application. You’ll not only learn songs, but also how to play confidently with others.
I also work on listening skills, improvisation, and reading lead sheets. These are essential for accompanying and performing in group settings. You’ll gain the confidence to handle real musical situations.

My methodology is designed to build strong reading skills through clear and consistent practice. I help you connect what you see on the page to your fingers on the keys. This creates smooth coordination. You’ll start reading music more naturally.
