About Iris
Hi my name is Iris! I am currently a first year student at Trent University, I am majoring in English Literature. I would love to become an english teacher in the future. In the past couple of years, I have had the pleasure of working in a classroom, this has helped me discover my passion for helping students! In this classroom I was able to develop lesson plans and deliver them and was able to provide one-on-one support to the students in need.

My teaching methodology focuses on tailoring lessons to individual learning needs. This includes interactive learning, breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps, utilising
visual and practical aids, providing constructive and supportive feedback and adaptability.
A Typical Lesson Plan for me would be something like this:
Introduction (5-10 minutes):
Recap of previous lessons or topics.
Brief discussion of objectives for the current lesson.
Core Learning (20-30 minutes):
Explain key concepts with examples and visuals.
Guide the student through practice exercises or hands-on activities.
Engagement (15 minutes):
Encourage the student to apply the lesson through independent practice.
Address any questions or challenges they encounter.
Review and Wrap-Up (5-10 minutes):
Summarize the day’s key takeaways.
What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor?
I create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. I design each session based on the student's unique strengths, weaknesses, and goals. And I make lessons relatable and enjoyable by connecting them to real-world scenarios or the student's personal interests.
