About Heidi

Hi there! I’m Yanjun (Heidi), a native Chinese speaker with a strong passion for languages, cultures, and teaching. I lived in the U.S. and Singapore for 6 years, where I tutored both children and adults from diverse backgrounds in Chinese and English. These cross-cultural experiences helped me better understand how to adapt lessons to each student’s needs. Now, I’m a full-time tutor based in Shanghai, committed to helping learners around the world build confidence and fluency in Chinese and English.

About the lesson

I design each lesson based on your personal goals, level, and interests.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to boost your fluency, I blend conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary, and cultural insights into every session.
As a language learner myself (currently learning French and Spanish!), I understand the challenges, and how to overcome them with clarity, patience, and the right techniques.

Here’s how I can help:

Beginners
From pinyin to basic conversations, I’ll guide you step by step with fun, interactive practice and real-world topics, helping you speak confidently from Day 1.

️ Speaking & Listening
Through dialogues, role-plays, and pronunciation training, you’ll build natural fluency and confidence in understanding and being understood.

Business Chinese
Customized to your field and goals: workplace communication, email writing, client meetings, and professional expressions.

️ Travel Chinese
Master the essential phrases for transport, ordering food, asking for directions, and more, so you can travel in China comfortably and confidently.

HSK Preparation
Focused and strategic support for HSK levels 1–6: we’ll strengthen your listening, speaking, reading, and writing with practice tests and targeted feedback.

I truly believe in Wittgenstein’s words:
“The limits of my language mean the limits of my world.”
Let’s discover how far your world can grow, one language at a time.
