About Similoluwa
I’m Simi, a professionally qualified teacher and experienced educator with a passion for helping students understand, enjoy and succeed in their studies.
I hold a B.Sc.Ed (Hons) in Economics Education and a professional teaching qualification, alongside an MA in International Education and Development.
I have over 5 years of practical teaching experience in Mathematics and Economics, including working with teenagers preparing for GCSE and A-level examinations. This experience has taught me that effective tutoring is about much more than knowing the subject — it is about understanding the learner, identifying where they are struggling and finding the right way to help them progress.
I am patient, approachable, organized and committed to my students’ progress. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and taking the time they need to develop their understanding.
My teaching style combines clear explanations, step-by-step guidance, worked examples and plenty of opportunities for students to practice and apply what they have learned. I adapt my lessons to the student’s current ability and goals, whether they need to strengthen their foundations, tackle challenging topics, prepare for GCSE or A-level examinations, or build confidence in Mathematics and Algebra.
I also offer college and university preparation, drawing on both my teaching experience and my own journey through undergraduate and postgraduate education.
I don’t believe in labeling students as “good” or “bad” at Mathematics. With the right support, clear explanations and consistent practice, students can make remarkable progress.
My aim is to help every student leave a lesson not only knowing more, but feeling more confident, capable and ready to tackle the next challenge.

My lessons are designed to make Mathematics and Economics clear, approachable and enjoyable, even if you currently feel that math is not your strongest subject.
I take a patient and personalized approach, adapting each lesson to your current level, learning style and goals. Rather than rushing through topics or simply giving you answers, I break problems down step by step and help you understand how and why something works.
Whether you need support with Arithmetic, Algebra, Economics, general Mathematics, exam preparation or strengthening your foundations, we will both focus on the areas where you need the most help and build your confidence along the way.
I also offer college and university preparation, helping students develop the academic skills, confidence and study habits needed to make a successful transition into higher education.
My lessons are a judgment-free space. You can ask questions, make mistakes and take your time. After all, mistakes are a part of learning.
My goal is not just to help you get the right answer, but to help you become confident enough to solve the next problem on your own.
