About Lyris
I am a native Mandarin speaker with four years of teaching experience across school-based teaching, one-to-one tutoring and dance education in both China and Australia. I hold a teaching qualification and received Third Prize in teaching skills competition.
Teaching has taught me that every learner is different. I am patient, encouraging and well prepared, and I enjoy helping students feel comfortable enough to ask questions, make mistakes and grow in confidence. I always aim to create a warm, reliable and well-structured learning experience for every student.

I believe Mandarin is best learned through interesting, meaningful and real-life experiences. Rather than memorizing isolated words, my lessons help learners use Chinese in everyday situations such as introducing themselves, ordering food, traveling, shopping and talking about their interests.
Every lesson is gently tailored to your age, goals, interests and learning style. We may use pictures, stories, games, short videos and relaxed conversation practice. Lessons usually last 45–60 minutes. With my public-school teaching and private tutoring experience, I will create a supportive learning space where children and beginners can enjoy learning at their own pace.
