About Serena
I have 12 years of experience teaching piano and hold a Bachelor’s in Piano Performance and a Master’s in Music Education. My academic training allowed me to explore advanced repertoire and effective teaching strategies. Over the years, I have worked with beginners and advanced students, helping them build strong technical foundations and musical understanding.
My teaching style focuses on clarity and balance. I believe consistent practice and patient instruction lead to meaningful progress. I adapt lessons to suit each learner’s pace while maintaining high standards of technique and musicality. Seeing students perform confidently after dedicated practice is deeply rewarding.
Outside the classroom, I continue performing and studying new repertoire to refine my skills. Music remains a lifelong commitment for me. I am passionate about guiding students towards disciplined practice, artistic growth, and genuine enjoyment at the piano.

My piano lessons focus on developing strong fundamentals while encouraging expressive playing. I guide students through correct posture, hand positioning, and finger independence to create a balanced and controlled sound. Each lesson includes scale practice and rhythm exercises to build coordination and timing. I use simple explanations to ensure students clearly understand note reading and basic music theory. Structured repetition helps strengthen accuracy and confidence.
As students progress, we work on dynamics, articulation, and phrasing to shape musical interpretation. I introduce pieces that match each learner’s level, balancing technical challenge with enjoyment. Sight-reading practice and ear training are included to support well-rounded development. Clear feedback and organised practice goals help students make steady progress outside lessons.
Performance preparation is an important part of my teaching. I guide students in building stage confidence and managing nervousness calmly. By combining discipline with encouragement, I help learners develop both skill and enjoyment. My goal is to support each student in becoming a confident and expressive pianist.
